I've always had crafty hobbies. I've dabbled with most of the ones you could think of.
And then one day a vegetarian friend talked to me about how she couldn't find soaps made without animal fats.

I had seen a beautiful book on making soap at the bookstore and went back to get it. After reading it, I decided to do some more research and learn how to do it right, where to get the ingredients, and find some recipes. Several months later, and after lots of study, I made my first batch. It was like magic! It was the most beautiful soap I had ever seen and turned out so well. I was hooked. And many years later, and many more recipes, I still think it is magic :-)

Soap led to lotion, and many other scented items. I love to formulate, and make things my own. Yes, I'm one of those people who can't make a recipe by the book. I'm always throwing in this, and changing that. With skin care products though, you have to know how the formula comes together and which ingredients do what so you know where you can make changes and where you can't. That takes some study and understanding of some basic chemistry.

I find this craft so creative, challenging and fulfilling that I no longer pick up this or that hobby - I have found the passion of my life, and it is my pleasure to share my passion with you!
